I am not a student at College of San Mateo, Canada College, or Skyline College. How can I borrow books from any of the college libraries?

Answer

Yes, the CSM Library is a public space and open to all, including non-CSM students, the San Mateo community, and CSM Alumni. Anyone can use the CSM Library and library computers, and all users can print (see more information about printing on campus). The CSM Library is an "open stacks" library meaning anyone can browse our shelves and access our books, as well as our computers.

If you would like to check out books please bring a photo ID and talk to the CSM Library Circulation desk to set-up a Community Member or Alumni account, or apply for an account online at the SMCCCD OneSearch User's Guide.

Only SMCCCD students, faculty, and staff can access the CSM Library's online resources from off-campus. With the exception of the library catalog OneSearch, all CSM Library's databases or other subscription services are only accessible to staff and students. Some online tools may be accessible from on-campus by non-SMCCCD users.

Please visit CSM's Maps, Directions, and Parking page to learn more about transportation and parking on campus.
